*Note: your eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing, peeling and healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures. The pigment color will take up 3-4 weeks to clarify.
GENERAL INFORMATION WHAT TO EXPECT
-
Permanent cosmetics do not always heal perfectly after the first session, it may take 2 or more sessions to reach your ideal result.
-
During the first 2 weeks of your healing process, you will need to be patient as your brows will continue to change and will appear different day to day. Please know this is completely normal.
-
Immediately after your procedure your brows will appear darker and more defined (this will last up to 2 weeks). Your brow tattoo may appear more thick and hair strokes may seem to disappear (it may look wet and painted on). All of this is normal and to be expected.
-
About 4-5 days after your treatment you will see scabbing around the skin area and your brows may look dry and flakey. It is very important that you do not pick your scabs and let them fall off naturally. If scabbing comes off prematurely, missing stokes will result and cause patchy brows.
-
Your brow tattoo may take up to 6-8 weeks to fully heal. When the scabbing naturally comes off, the brow strokes may seem faint, this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer.
-
You may experience itchiness in the brows after 10 days and up to 2 months because of the healing of the dermal layer.
-
Hairstrokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined.
THINGS TO AVOID
-
Overexposure to sun or tanning can be detrimental to your treated skin. Excessive UV exposure will alter the pigment of your tattoo.
-
Laser light therapy on your treated skin (this can darken, lighten, and distort the color pigment).
-
Direct water on your brow tattoo/skin (this is a crucial step to avoid washing out the color).
-
Use of cleansers, soaps or any other creams on your brow tattoo. Wash around the area using a cleaning cloth or makeup wipe.
-
Use of Vaseline, Neosporin, and petroleum based products on your tattooed area.
-
Applying makeup on your brows for 2 weeks after your treatment.
-
Use of exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the treated area for 30 days after the appointment, these products will fade your tattoo prematurely.
-
Excessive exercise and sweating for the first 10 days after your treatment (sweating may infect, discolour, or prematurely fade your brow tattoo).
-
Visiting saunas, pools, and steam rooms.
-
Massages, facials, or skin treatments during the healing process.
TOUCH UPS
-
Your treatment will be a 2-step process. Sometimes a third step for all correction or coverup. The first session is used to build shape and gain symmetry (note your brows may not be perfect after the first session). The second session is used to perfect the brows and add density.
-
The first touch up (or second session) is done within the first 2-3 months after the first session.
-
It is your responsibility to book your touch up appointments. Please plan to book your touch up appointment in advance, as some artists may have limited availability.
-
If your tattoo appears to be faded due to improper after care, there may be additional costs for your touch up appointment.
-
Out of town clients please ensure you plan your future appointments in advance as availability cannot be guaranteed.
-
For our darker complexion clients, permanent makeup will not look as bold or sharp as fairer complexions.
-
Please know some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions.
LONG TERM CARE
-
We hope that all of our clients understand we cannot provide any guarantees or results, each client’s results will vary due to skin type, lifestyle, the initial 10-day care and long-term care of your brow tattoo.
-
For proper skin care practices use at least SPF 30 to protect your brows, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.
-
Using chemical exfoliants on the treated area will cause the color to fade faster.
-
Do not apply laser treatments to your brow area (IPL etc), some lasers may change the color of the ink.
-
As the tattoo naturally fades, the strokes will get fainter and less defined.
-
Maintenance is required to keep up desired results. Brow Refreshes can be booked and completed on average every 12-18 months to maintain your permanent cosmetics.
-
